Every Thursday or Friday social media is flooded with #tbt and #tbf pics and references. On one hand it’s a cheap and easy way to stay relevant and ’update’ your social media. On the other hand, every picture tells a story.
#Tbt is a window into who we are by looking at who we ’used’ to be. It tells us how far we’ve come, and how far we have yet to travel. They remind us if our successes and when we fell down and had to pick ourselves back up. We recall the faces of people whose lives we touched, and those who have impacted ours (both good and otherwise); remember those who are still around, and those who have gone.
For us every event pic over the past 18 yrs is a reminder that we can do it! We recall everyone who told us that this would never fly as a full time company; hobby at best. Every face has a story, and as a lifelong skater I’m humbled by the extraordinary skating family we’ve become.
So every week when your social media blows up with #tbt remember that each pic is part of a mosaic, a life story a piece of history. Mainly, remember that that photo was selected from 100s for a reason; somehow it was inspired!
